Early Intervention:

The Early Childhood Programs division provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to three) with disabilities and/or developmental delays, or who are at risk to develop delays. Services are family-centered and are provided by specialists trained in early intervention, physical, occupational, and language therapies. The most frequently requested services are developmental programming, nursing, sign language, counseling, behavioral supports, speech, and physical, and/or occupational therapy.

Children are evaluated to determine eligibility and then receive ongoing comprehensive assessments. Families may choose to receive services at one of the centers located in Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Fairborn, or Xenia, or they may decide they want the services provided in their homes. Some children may also receive intervention services in child care settings.

All services are based on a developmental/educational model and are designed to meet the needs of the child and his/her family. Appointments for evaluations to determine needed services and eligibility may be made by contacting us at the address given above.

Help Me Grow:

Help Me Grow is a state initiative integrating several "birth to three" children's programs into one consolidated system. The early intervention program as a component of Help ME Grow, provides Service Coordinators who help parents obtain the services and assistance they need for their infants and/or toddlers with disabilities and or/developmental delays and their families.

Families receive home or community site visits from the service coordinator to help in identifying available service providers, to coordinate with medical and other service providers, to provide information on parenting and medical topics of interest, to coordinate evaluations and assessments, and to facilitate the development of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP).
